Building Better Futures International Privacy Policy
Preservation of our Supporters’ privacy is important to Building Better Futures International and we are committed to letting you know how we use your personal information and to making only responsible use of your data. References to “we”, “us”, or “our” in this Privacy Policy are references to Building Better Futures International, a charity registered in England, registered charity number 1126907.
1. Information about you
1.1 We will collect personal information from you when you first donate to us, subscribe to our mailing list or enquire about our activities. This may include your name, title, email address, physical address, and telephone numbers. If you have set up a Standing Order to donate to us, we will also have details of the bank account you used to set up the Standing Order.
2. Our use of this information
2.1 Your personal information will only be used to provide you with information relating to the operation of Building Better Futures International in accordance with its stated Objects.
2.2 We will not share your information with any other individual or organisation without your specific consent, except, where you have signed a Gift Aid form, to give details of your name, address and the aggregate amount of your donations in any financial year to HMRC as part of our Gift Aid returns to HMRC.
2.3 We will only keep your personal information for so long as we need it for the purpose acquired or need to retain it to comply with legal obligations.
2.4 We believe we have a legitimate interest in retaining and processing the names, addresses and other relevant personal data of the individuals or organisations who have either given specific consent to us retaining this information or who have donated to us in the preceding three years. 3. Security
3.1 We will take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of information you give us.
3.2 Data held on the website is password protected and is available to only a few named individuals.
3.3 Paper records containing personal information are held in a secure manner by our treasurer, with access restricted to named BBFI trustees.
3.4 Communications in connection with Building Better Futures International may be sent by e-mail or by post. For ease of use and compatibility, communications will not be sent in an encrypted form. E-mail, unless encrypted, is not a fully secure means of communication. Whilst we endeavour to keep our systems and communications protected against viruses and other harmful effects we cannot bear responsibility for all communications being virus-free.
4. Cookies
4.1 Cookies are not used on the Building Better Futures International website.

5.2 If you are unhappy about the way we hold or use your personal information, please contact us and we shall try to address your concerns. If you do not think we have acted properly in the way we hold and use your personal information, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner who can be contacted at http://www.ico.org.uk
